Fusing Sterling Silver

I spent some time today fusing sterling silver rings to make chain. Fusing is a dance with fire. You heat the silver waving the flame back and forth, watching and waiting until just the right moment. You dance the flame back and forth and then, there it is! It glistens and fuses. There is an art to fusing. Done too quickly and you links will fail to flow. Done too long and you will melt the silver right in two.
